Kensington Ngorongoro Camp

Kensington Ngorongoro Camp

While in Tanzania we stayed one night in the Kensington Ngorongoro tented camp. This particular camp doesn’t exist anymore, so the review won’t have any practical value – but it was our first ever tented camp experience, so we feel a blog post is needed. :)

There’s something special about camping in Africa. It’s authentic and natural. Our favorite moment was one romantic evening we spent by campfire watching the sunset while eating snacks and wine – just perfect. Located in the middle of nowhere, several kilometers away from the Ngorongoro park entrance gate, we passed a few local villages on the way. Everything was in tents – not just the seven camps, but also a bar and a restaurant. These canvas tents were built on a solid base and were spacious and comfortable, complete with proper toilets and hot showers. We were the only guests during our stay at Kensington, so we had the entire camp to ourselves. :) The food was also impressive and incredibly delicious!
